When I saw the Yongle...
When I saw the Yongle
Dadian in the British
Museum I was struck by the
Clarity of the request and the
directness of the response
and the stunning beauty of
the scrolls. The drawings
that I have made attempt to
recreate the atmosphere of
what I imagine one of the
authors of the scrolls
was experiencing.
The drawings also represent
the way that I know how to
describe the world.
